Certain Steps for Uncertain Times

Lancaster Pediatric Associates is thinking about your family during this time. As with most every other business in the world right now, our daily operations look a little different today than they did a month ago, but we are still here—as we have been for over 50 years now—to serve you and your children. We are taking additional precautions to ensure that we can continue to provide you and your family the safe and uninterrupted health services you deserve:

We are still seeing patients in both our Lancaster and Willow Street offices for well visits. The American Academy of Pediatrics is recommending that children ages two and younger still come in for their routine well visits, especially those children who are due for immunizations and boosters. Rest assured we are doing everything we can to keep the office environment as safe as possible for every visitor. This includes a few changes that will remain in effect until further notice:

  • For those coming to our Lancaster office, our main entrance at 2106 is closed. The staff at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health are screening the entrances at 2104 and 2100, asking everyone who enters if they have had any recent exposure to COVID-19, taking temps, etc.

  • In both office locations, patients who present with fever and/or cough will be taken directly to an exam room. Otherwise, patients will be separated in waiting rooms with sick children on the left side of the waiting rooms and well children on the right side.

  • We have begun scheduling telemedicine visits. Parents can reach out to us to discuss a potential telemedicine visit for things like rashes, pink eye, allergy symptoms, styes, vomiting or diarrhea, diaper rash, etc. Just call our office, and one of our schedulers will offer an appointment time with one of our providers for a telemedicine visit. You will then receive an email invitation with a link to join the visit. You will need a computer or smart tablet to conduct the visit. When it is time for your appointment, you can simply click the link provided, which will take you to a virtual waiting room where you will meet the provider for your virtual visit!

We know these feel like scary and uncertain times we’re in, but one thing won’t change: Your children’s health and wellbeing remains our top priority at Lancaster Pediatric Associates. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your questions and concerns. And remember: Wash your hands frequently, and stay in place when you can. When you can’t, be vigilant to practice social distancing. Most importantly, stay safe, stay calm, and stay positive. We truly are all in this together!
