Welcome Home, Jennifer McSparren Crystle!

LPA is proud to welcome Jennifer McSparren Crystle “home.” Many longtime Lancastrians will recognize the McSparren name. Jennifer McSparren Crystle is simply…family. As Dr. Clark McSparren’s youngest daughter, it only seemed right that we welcome her to our provider panel when we heard she was looking to come home! While we are celebrating the history and nostalgia of having Jennifer home at LPA with us, we are most excited about what this means for YOU, our patients, and our LPA community. In the past couple of years, the need for mental health providers has become desperately scarce. We are no exception to this need so having in-house counseling for our patients is something we are thrilled about!

Jennifer’s education, credentials, and experience working with children exceeded our expectations and desire to build our own mental health program. Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in nurturing the emotional wellbeing of children and adolescents. Jennifer has more than 20 years of experience serving children and adolescents in varied settings. Her areas of specialty include anxiety, ADHD, coping with death, bullying, cyber-bullying, teen relationships and sex, depression, blended families, emotional challenges, defiance, self-esteem and adjustment concerns, disruptive children, childhood aggression, creating an optimal learning environment for students, effective school advocacy, parenting in the age of distractions and understanding, and treating ADHD, gender identity, LGBTQ+ trauma.

Jennifer practices evidenced-based strategies and approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), supportive therapy, and skill building. Additionally, having worked in the school environment in the past, she has extensive experience with school collaboration and helping guide parents and schools with effective interventions and accommodation plans.

Jennifer is a proud graduate of JP McCaskey High School, she earned her B.S. in Psychology from Syracuse, and went on to earn an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University. Jennifer is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling.

Jennifer is known for her great empathy, use of humor, and ability to connect in a way that promotes change and growth. We are proud to offer LPA patients who need counseling services a referral to Jennifer McSparren Crystle. Jennifer is working in the office Tuesday through Friday.
