Immunization requirements

Schools in Pennsylvania require that all students entering Kindergarten and any higher grade level have the following immunizations on the 1st day of school:

  • 4 doses of DTaP (1 dose on or after their 4th birthday)
  • 4 doses of Polio (1 dose on or after their 4th birthday & at least 6 months after the previous dose given)
  • 2 doses of Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR)
  • 3 doses of Hepatitis B
  • 2 doses of Varicella (Chickenpox) or evidence of immunity such as disease

Students entering 7th grade need the following additional immunizations prior to the 1st day of school:

  • 1 dose of Tdap 
  • 1 dose of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV)

Students entering 12th grade need the following immunization prior to the 1st day of school:

  • 1 additional dose of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV)

To ensure your child is up to date, log in to your portal account by clicking on the patient portal button above.  If you have any questions, or if your child is due for any of the above immunizations, you can contact the office via the patient portal or by calling 717-291-5931 and selecting option “1” for scheduling.  Schedule early to avoid the back to school rush!
